
Manama--- Omani researcher Alia Hilal Al Saadi, from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), won third place in the first edition of Ibn Khaldun Research Award, organized by Mustaqirah foundation in Bahrain. The award took the theme of “Family in the Digital Space”.
Alia Al Saadi merited 3rd place ranking due to her outstanding participation in a joint research paper titled: “Intergenerational digital divide and its impact on identity and family values”. The research was a study about the challenges posed to parental guidance in the digital age.
Alia Al Saadi is an Associate Researcher in the field of philosophy at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, SQU College of Arts and Social Sciences.
In its first edition, "Ibn Khaldun Research Award" attracted 104 international researchers from 9 countries, thus affirming its status as a platform for scholarly research and studies on serving the family, society and sustainable development.
