
Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received in Muscat on Sunday Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government for Middle East Affairs.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the trajectory of the strong bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China, reaffirming their commitment to building upon the partnerships and joint projects achieved in recent years.
They also discussed the regional and international developments, along with associated challenges and repercussions. Both parties expressed their countries' support for dialogue and diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability, and containing the root causes of tension and conflict.
They further emphasised the necessity of adhering to the rules of international law and the purposes of the United Nations Charter, as well as advancing political tracks capable of addressing crises through peaceful and constructive means, while ensuring the freedom and safety of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, Lyu Jian, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman and a number of officials from both sides.
