Muscat : The Sultanate of Oman achieved advanced regional and global results in several indicators within the World Bank's 2025 Logistics Performance Index (LPI) report.
Oman achieved first place globally in the "Export Supply Chain Start-Up" indicator with a record time of just 0.8 days. This achievement reflects the efficiency of its logistics system and the speed of its trade procedures. The LPI measures the complete cycle time of an empty container from departure to its return loaded and ready for export through the port, reflecting the high operational efficiency and speed of container handling at Omani ports.
Oman ranked ninth globally in the "Import Supply Chain Completion" index, out of 165 countries. This index measures the time from the delivery of a container to the consumer until its return empty to the warehouse, reflecting the efficiency of import operations and the smooth flow of goods.
At the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) level, Oman ranked second in the "Export Containers Remaining in Port Time" index, which measures the time an export container remains at the port of departure from arrival until loading onto a ship. It also ranked third in the GCC in the "Direct Shipping Lines Services" index, which measures the number of regular shipping services connecting the country's ports to other ports worldwide.
In the "Number of Shipping Alliances" index, Oman ranked 25th globally out of 169 countries and second in the GCC. This index measures the level of cooperation among shipping lines in jointly managing operational and commercial activities, contributing to the expansion of maritime networks and access to a greater number of global ports and destinations.
The Sultanate also ranked 39th globally and third in the Gulf region in the "Number of Direct Shipping Connectivity Partners" indicator, which measures the number of markets directly accessible from Omani ports via regular shipping lines.
