
Muscat: The first edition of TEDx: Young Voices of Oman 2026 was successfully held by the Preparatory Studies Centre at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Al Musannah, bringing together promising young speakers from four schools across South Al Batinah in a vibrant celebration of communication, creativity, and ideas sharing.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Dr. Nihad Abdallah Mohammed Al-Zadjali, Deputy Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Ms. Amani Al Jabri, Head of the Preparatory Studies Centre, whose inspiring remarks encouraged participants to pursue excellence in public speaking and leadership.
The competition featured sixteen Grade 11 students representing Halah Bint Khuwailed School, Alala bin Wahab School, Arwa Bint Al Harith School, and Al-Sult Bin Malik School. Participants captivated the audience with insightful informative speeches that reflected confidence, originality, and strong critical thinking skills. The program also featured a dynamic interactive session, which added enthusiasm and energy to the event. The competition concluded with the announcement of eight finalists who advanced to the final stage of the competition.
The final stage was honoured by the presence of Dr. Bassam Khalil Hamdan Tabsh, Assistant Vice Chancellor, and Ms. Amani Saif Al Jabri, Head of the Preparatory Studies Centre, whose attendance reflected the University's commitment to empowering young learners and fostering future leaders. Their support and encouragement inspired participants to continue developing their communication skills and confidence in sharing ideas.
