
Abu Dhabi: Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), met in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The meeting aimed to boost cooperation in economic zones, free zones and industrial cities.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed avenues of economic cooperation and integration opportunities between the economic and free zones of the two countries, in addition to discussing investment opportunities in industrial and logistics sectors, as well as advanced technologies.
Al Yousef also met with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Said Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, along with a number of officials, investors, and entrepreneurs from various economic sectors.
The meetings explored opportunities to enhance economic and investment cooperation, exchange expertise and knowledge in the development of economic and free zones, advanced industrial technologies, lifestyle models in economic cities, and best practices for improving the business environment. These efforts aim to support the competitiveness of economic zones and enhance the attraction of high-value investments and regional supply chains.
A meeting was also held with the operating company of Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone to discuss project developments, explore required support mechanisms, and enhance local added value.
