Foreign Minister receives UK Deputy Prime Minister and State Secretary for Justice

Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received in Muscat today David Lammy, Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Justice in the United Kingdom (UK).

The meeting addressed a number of issues pertaining to the longstanding friendship and mutual cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional developments and their repercussions, emphasizing the importance of intensifying international efforts to de-escalate tensions, strengthen channels of dialogue, and advance peaceful and diplomatic solutions. This contributes to solidifying the foundations of security and stability at both the regional and international levels.

In addition, both sides stressed the importance of safeguarding the security and safety of maritime navigation and the uninterrupted flow of maritime transport, in a manner that supports the stability of global supply chains.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large and Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil Al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neighbourhood Department at the Foreign Ministry as well as a number of officials from both sides.
