Voltamp launches initiative to strengthen Oman’s industrial supply chains

Muscat: Voltamp Energy, in partnership with the Authority for Public Services Regulationand the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, has launched the “Localise It with Voltamp” initiative aimed at localising supply chains and strengthening in-country value within the electrical industries and energy sector.

The initiative seeks to empower entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and local and international investors to establish industrial partnerships with Voltamp by connecting them with global manufacturers and facilitating the transfer of manufacturing technologies to the Sultanate of Oman.

The initiative aims to build a stronger domestic manufacturing base capable of meeting local and regional market demands.

It also aims to localise the production of 10 key high-demand components used in the company’s products, transforming these opportunities into local manufacturing facilities that can support supply chains, reduce dependence on imports and improve long-term supply resilience.

According to the initiative’s objectives, it is expected to contribute to the establishment of 10 local factories with investments reaching approximately OMR50 million, in addition to signing advance purchasing agreements expected to add between OMR30 million and OMR40 million in local value creation. The initiative is also expected to generate at least 100 jobs during the initial establishment phases of these factories.

The initiative will further provide sustainable supply opportunities for SMEs and deliver technical support and industrial guidance to ensure that new projects are ready to enter approved supply chains.

Mohammed Ajmal Basha, Chief Executive Officer of Voltamp Energy, said the initiative represents a practical shift from reliance on imports toward building sustainable local industrial capabilities.

He noted that the initiative opens a new pathway for localising industries linked to the energy sector, adding that the company has identified 10 key opportunities to localize products within its business ecosystem.

He invited SMEs, entrepreneurs and investors to participate in the initiative, emphasising that Voltamp will provide guaranteed purchase agreements, technical support and opportunities to access regional markets, positioning the initiative as a practical platform for building a competitive local manufacturing industry.

The initiative aligns with Oman’s objectives of enhancing local manufacturing, increasing the contribution of SMEs to the national economy and expanding in-country value, while reflecting the company’s strategy to develop more sustainable and resilient supply chains that support Oman’s position as a regional hub for electrical industries and energy solutions.
