ALECSO awards His Majesty the Supreme Class of the Arab Cultural Excellence Medal

Muscat: The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) has awarded His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik the Supreme Class of the Arab Cultural Excellence Medal, in recognition of His Majesty’s contributions to supporting Arab culture, enhancing its presence, preserving identity, and advancing the pathways of intellectual and knowledge development across the Arab world.

Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, stated that ALECSO’s conferment of the Arab Cultural Excellence Medal upon His Majesty the Sultan underscores the noble approach of cementing the status of knowledge and culture for their civilisational role in promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence, and rapprochement among peoples.

ALECSO will hold an official ceremony at its headquarters in Tunis this Tuesday to honour His Majesty the Sultan with the attendance of senior officials, intellectuals, and those engaged in Arab cultural affairs.

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) is a specialised organization of the League of Arab States. Established in 1970 and headquartered in Tunis, Republic of Tunisia, ALECSO is concerned with the development of education, culture, and science in Arab countries; the promotion of Arab cultural and knowledge integration; the safeguarding of cultural heritage; and the building of intellectual and cultural partnerships among Arab states.
